This wasn't the day of the CSX on the Abbeville Sub. Heavy rain that made wheels slip at grades had led to delays from the morning on, causing a congestion of due southbounds. Conflicting northbounds, switch work in Athens GA, and recrewing necessary due to the delays made this a difficult job for CSX operations, but doubtless an interesting railfanning day. Eight trains showed up in short succession: Q614, A790, Q210, Q667, Q675, Q662, K661, and Q619. At the end of the day, in almost every siding sat a tied down train waiting for a new crew.
