Yay! The sweet little Dark-eyed Juncos are back! I love these little birds and their “Pew! Pew! Pew!” calls. I remember my mom saying that when the Juncos showed up, it meant it was going to snow soon. There’s no snow in the forecast but there is a really cold cold front coming through in the next couple of days. Brrrrr.

It was also nice to see the young Sapsucker. And the Hermit Thrush seems have settled in for the winter.

I’m still watching for White-throated Sparrows and Yellow-rumped Warbers. I’m hoping for some Purple Finches too, but they usually arrive later.
