Clashes broke out between protesters and security personnel in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district during protest marches that were called to demand the demolition of an alleged illegal mosque. Visuals from the ground showed chaotic scenes with police resorting to water cannons as the protesters tried to breach the security barricades in the Jail Road area of Mandi. On Thursday, members of the Muslim community had themselves demolished an unauthorized portion of the mosque located on Jail Road in Mandi.
