Is Mimar Sinan The Greatest Architect?

In the 16th century, the city of Istanbul reached a level of cultural eminence that was hardly rivalled anywhere else on the planet. Nowhere was this more visible than in the city’s architecture. As the Ottoman Empire continued its conquests, Istanbul took the shape of an imperial metropolis. Much of this splendour can be attributed to a single individual - Mimar Sinan, the man whose architectural exploits have immortalised the Golden Age of the Ottoman Empire.
His monuments would go on to define the development of classical Ottoman architecture and in the process, carve out a body of work that leaves one to question - was Mimar Sinan the greatest architect of all time?
