The FORCE GURKHA 2024 is finally here. Both 3 door and 5 door. Tripaccino got its hands on these new trucks and here's what we think.

Here's a sneak peak of the Force Gurkha 2024 exclusively for our tripaccino community!

Preamble: Please go back and watch the prediction video we uploaded waaaaay back in 2022. ALL of the predictions have come true :D Remember folks, you heard it here first!!

   • New Force Gurkha 2024 BS6.2 | April L...  .

Here's a quick summary of my Pros and Cons, based on my experience with the new Gurkha 2024 during the Media Drive.

PROS:
+ Both 3 door and 5 door available. 5 door adds a huge practicality quotient. May find its place as the only car in the garage. One-car-do-all ?
+5 door proportion doesnt look 'stretched' and aesthetically very appealing. Larger wheels and window disposition, complete the 'G-Wagen' look.
+ Engine has been refined and juiced out to the last ounce of power. 140 horses is finally here!
+Pickup and in gear acceleration is superior compared to my old gen BS 6.0 Gurkha
+ 4x4 electronic Dial makes it more accessible for newer off-roaders wary of wrestling with the older gear lever.
+Armrests, finally.
+Ride quality is vastly improved.
+Cabin insulation is better than any Gurkha till date and AT tires are not noisy.
+Front underbody completely reworked with higher mount points on the chassis for the wishbones. Ground clearance issue is solved!

-Too many electronics have crept into the cabin in the name of convenience. More things that could fail you, out in the wilderness. Especially since electronics are an achilles heel for most Indian brands. Personally, I always prefer the old school mechanicals.
-4x4 dial is electronic and takes a few seconds to cycle through 4H to 4L. Patience and practice are key for new owners to get used to this.
-Seat adjust still missing.(Not much space is there between steering and seat for using a full range of seat adjust, even if provided. This needs a complete re-jig of the driver well ergonomics in the next generation)
-Brakes are too spongy for my liking. Needs a confidence inspiring bite point, especially in the heavier 5 door version.
-AC blower for second row lifted out of Citiline. Looks out of place in terms of fit and finish. Could have been integrated more seamlessly.
-Bench is supportive but the Space in second row is tight if the driver seat is pushed comfortably back. Maybe captain seats all around (Hexa config) would have worked better as an option?
-Removed the useful rear pintle hook to accommodate a rear camera. Could have retained both with a little bit of thought.

I would be getting some more dedicated 'me-time' behind the wheels of the new Gurkha shortly. Will live with it a while and give a balanced review.
