Learn what it's like to work at the Technetics/Maestral Laboratory in Pierrelatte, France.

After studying mechanical engineering at the INSA in Rennes, I then studied for a PhD in fluid mechanics at the University of Toulouse, after which I was taken on at Maestral laboratory as a digital simulation engineer. What I like about Maestral laboratory is the means deployed in terms of digital simulation, enabling us to predict the performance levels of sealing systems. I also enjoy the human resources and the different skillsets present within the laboratory.

I am a mechanical engineer, with a degree from the INSA in Rennes, and I was given the opportunity to join Maestral laboratory in 2014. My role within the laboratory is project management, which may involve particularly client-centric projects with problems specific to the client, where we carry out tests right up until results are delivered and the handover report is compiled. We will also be managing fundamental research and development projects for Technetics and for the CEA. What I like most about the laboratory is the range of different subjects that we are able to tackle on a daily basis. We are regularly given new challenges and new problems to tackle, meaning we are never working on the same subjects, and that is what helps ensure that our days are always different and always interesting.
