A young couple, "Kate" and "Luke", sit in their dimly lit living room. The mood is heavy with silence. The air between them is thick with unspoken words, tension hanging like a storm about to break.
Unspoken Distance is a short film I created during my time at the New York Film Academy, as part of an exercise in the montage filmmaking technique. The goal was to use editing and visual rhythm to build meaning and emotion, rather than relying on dialogue or linear storytelling.

Shot on the Sony FS5 and made on a true zero budget, this film became an exploration of how images, cuts, and juxtapositions can carry a story forward. With no elaborate resources—only creativity, camera, and editing—I was able to shape an emotional narrative purely through the power of montage.

This project taught me the impact of visual language and remains an important part of my NYFA filmmaking journey, where every short film was both a classroom lesson and an artistic experiment.
