Love could give you two spectrums. One is happiness. The other is pain. As a song, we wanted to capture that side of love, the one that sees that pain. That is the crux of Thavikkiren.

When Kirishan and I were working on this song, the one song that I had in mind in terms of trying to look at as a template was A.R. Rahman's "Thalli Pogathey." And considering that song had a famous rap portion, we wanted a rapper to be on this track, and the very talented Shehzeb delivered on that portion. But at the end of the day, we have to thank Kirishan's father, Suresh uncle for writing the lyrics for the song. It was his lyrics that started this created process, and fueled what the song has become now.
