Don’t fall for the trap ❌ A card should fit your spending habits—not the other way around. You shouldn’t have to plan your life around squeezing value out of monthly credits 😅

When Amex raised the Gold fee from $250 → $325 and added the Dunkin’ ($7/month) and Resy ($50 biannual) credits, I couldn’t justify it for myself anymore. There aren’t even enough decent spots on Resy near me 😭 I was stressing every month trying to use those credits and still missed a couple. So when my fee hit, I closed it (and got a refund too!)

Here’s my current setup when I’m not chasing a new sign-up bonus :)
📍Bilt – 3x on restaurants
📍Amex Blue Cash Preferred – 6x on groceries ($95 annual fee)
📍Citi Custom Cash – 5x on gas (only use it for gas to get 5x)
📍Another Citi Custom Cash – 5x on travel (only use it for travel to get 5x)
📍Chase Freedom Flex – 5x rotating categories
📍Citi Double Cash – 2x on everything else
