Piloting An Equilibar Dome-Loaded BPR with Process CO2

Описание к видео Piloting An Equilibar Dome-Loaded BPR with Process CO2

This video gives step-by-step instructions for using the Equilibar multiple-orifice dome-loaded back pressure valve without a gas bottle or nitrogen bottle.

While bottled gas is traditionally used to supply the set-point pressure for the Equilibar, it is possible to supply the dome pressure using the same process fluid that is being controlled. This is a good alternative for many situations.

In the video, Ryan Heffner demonstrates how to use CO2 to supply the set-point pressure. This particular system uses an intensifying pump, metering valve and an Equilibar back pressure regulator to control the process pressure.

A detailed schematic shows the liquid CO2 tank feeding an intensifying pump to generate high pressure carbon dioxide and a metering valve to control the mass flow rate. A small portion of the flow supplies a pilot regulator that sets the pressure.

The video also shows the system in action as it adapts to set point adjustments. It demonstrates stable operation of the Equilibar process pilot system as the system responds stably. The system avoids the expense of a separate nitrogen supply.

Equilibar engineers have a great deal of experience in providing pressure control solutions for the most difficult process conditions, including low flow rates, mixed phase fluids of liquid and gas, corrosive media and extreme temperatures.

The Equilibar multiple-orifice dome-loaded back pressure works in a way that is entirely different compared to traditional valves and regulators.
