Описание к видео When A Prophet Were Brought Back To Life After 100 Years Of Death

Prophet Uzair (عُزَيْر) is a figure mentioned in Islamic tradition, though he is only referenced once in the Quran. In Islamic beliefs, he is often identified with the biblical figure Ezra. His story is not as detailed as those of other prophets, but he holds a unique place in Islamic history.

Uzair in the Quran
Uzair is mentioned in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:259):

"Or [consider such] as the one who passed by a township which had fallen into ruin. He said, 'How will Allah bring this to life after its death?' So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years; then He revived him. He said, 'How long have you remained?' He [the man] said, 'I have remained a day or part of a day.' He said, 'Rather, you have remained [dead] for a hundred years. Look at your food and your drink – it has not changed with time; and look at your donkey – and We will make you a sign for the people. And look at the bones [of this donkey] – how We raise them and then We cover them with flesh.' And when it became clear to him, he said, 'I know that Allah is over all things competent.'" (Quran 2:259)

While the Quran does not name the person explicitly, many Islamic scholars and commentators, such as Ibn Kathir, identify him as Uzair.

The Story of Prophet Uzair
Islamic traditions narrate that Uzair was a pious man who lived at a time when the Torah was lost. He was blessed by Allah with the ability to restore the Torah from memory. It is said that he lived during or after the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians.

The verse in the Quran is interpreted by scholars as follows:

Uzair came upon a ruined city (believed to be Jerusalem) and wondered how Allah could bring it back to life.
As a lesson, Allah caused him to die for 100 years.
Upon resurrection, he found his food and drink unchanged, while his donkey had turned to dust.
Allah then revived the donkey before Uzair's eyes to demonstrate His power of resurrection.
Seeing this, Uzair recognized Allah's absolute authority over life and death.
Is Uzair a Prophet in Islam?
There is a difference of opinion among scholars:

Some believe he was a prophet because he was granted divine knowledge of the Torah.
Others consider him a righteous man and a scholar rather than a prophet.
