Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and Canaan is one of the fastest growing slums - not only in Haiti, but on our planet today. Canaan did not exist prior to the 2010 earthquake. It is where thousands of people and families were relocated after losing their homes.

Though the people were given land, Canaan is a self-governed city and has no support from the government. There is currently no running water, electricity, infrastructure, security, or public schools. Businesses are few and far between, with extremely limited employment opportunities, forcing most Haitians to live on $1.50 per day.

To help support the children of Canaan, we built and continue to operate an elementary school. Our school opened in September 2018, welcoming 111 children in the first year.

We have provided a safe school for children to attend and obtain an education. Each year, we pay tuition fees for over 100 children. We provide them with textbooks, uniforms, school bags and supplies.
