Labour-based Bush Harvesting for Rangeland Restoration

Описание к видео Labour-based Bush Harvesting for Rangeland Restoration

In this video, we look at how thinning encroacher bushes and utilising the wood can help Namibian farmers to restore their rangeland, diversify income and enhance resilience to drought.

The footage is taken from the labour based encroacher bush harvesting pilot project that was conducted to conceptualise and benchmark the labour-intensive methodology of bush thinning in Namibia.

The pilot sought to derive a baseline for labour-based encroacher bush harvesting activities, from felling to preparing the derived biomass for further processing/ value addition. This pilot was funded by the GIZ Bush Control and Biomass Utilisation Project with support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry.
