A great, simple scale that works well.
This scale measures accurately and has a lighted dial. All you have to do is stand on it to turn it on. It automatically turns off. The numbers on the display are lit and are big enough to read if you have 20/40 vision or better. It's thin, and has a glass top with rubber feet. The feet resist sliding so the scale stays in one place. The whole thing is powered by three AAA batteries. I hope the batteries last a long time. You can change the units you use to measure your weight (pounds, kilograms or stone) by tapping a button on the underside. If you want to do more than weigh yourself (keep past weigh ins stored on the scale, etc.), you'll have to buy a more expensive scale.

My previous scale was a digital model that was around 20 years old. It was thick, but it was accurate and repairable with screws to allow interior access. I actually repaired it about seven years ago by installing new internal rubber pads, the ones that press against the transducers for weighing. This new one is not designed to be repaired; you use it until it doesn't work anymore, which I hope means it lasts for over 10 years.
