New challenges are release every week in Fortnite Battle Royale and the challenges this season have been changed slightly. Epic have introduced a new system where there are different rarities for the challenges. There are seven Epic Challenges released every week and these are the normal weekly challenges and they can be completed at any time during this season.
As always, there are multiple epic quests, and then a single, tiered legendary quest to be complete. The epic quests are worth 30,000 XP this season, while the first tier of the legendary quest is worth 45,000 with each subsequent tier also being worth 30,000 XP.
Fortnite Week 12 is staging Doctor Slone's endgame, so she wants you to find books on explosions, since she plans on making quite a big explosion herself soon. You'll need to find two books on explosions to complete this quest and while they're not too far apart, they can be easy to overlook. Here are the locations for books on explosions in Fortnite.
1. If you drop into Dirty Docks first, look for the container yard in the center of the location. By the exit, you'll see a dumpster. Right in front of that dumpster will be the first of two books on explosions
2. Once you're in Steamy Stacks, enter the grey and orange two-story building that rests at the end of the zipline. Just inside the door and under the stairs will be your other book on explosions.

What is fortnite?
Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play battle royale online video game developed and published by Epic Games. It is a companion game to Fortnite: Save the World, a cooperative survival game with construction elements. It was initially released in early access on September 26, 2017, for Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, followed by ports for iOS, Android, and the Nintendo Switch the following year. Epic dropped the "early access" label for Fortnite Battle Royale on June 29, 2020 alongside the announcement that Save the World's early access period had ended.
The concept of the game is similar to previous games of the genre: 100 players skydive onto an island and scavenge for gear to defend themselves from other players. Players can fight alone (Solo), with one additional player (Duos), or with a group of up to three others (Squads). As the match progresses, the playable area within the island gradually constricts, giving the players less and less room to work with. The last player or team alive wins the match. The main distinction from others in the genre is the game's construction elements, letting players build walls, obstacles, and other structures from collected resources to take cover from incoming fire or give one a strategic view advantage. Battle Royale uses a seasonal approach with battle passes to introduce new character customization content in the game, as well as limited time events, some of which correspond with changes to the game map. Since its initial release, several other game modes have been introduced, including "Battle Lab" and "Party Royale".
