The Blue Wiggle Anthony Field, 55, is hospitalised on American tour

Anthony Field, known to millions of children across the world as The Blue Wiggle, was hospitalised in Boston, Massachusetts on Monday.The Australian entertainer, 55, injured himself by colliding into a revolving door and was transported via ambulance to the Tuft Medical Center.The accident happened on the same day The Wiggles, who are one of the most popular children's bands in history, concluded a tour of the United States.Following the mishap, Field shared a photo of himself with a bandaged nose being stretchered into the back of an ambulance. Share this article Share The father-of-three also revealed details of the injury, including the fact he later received 12 facial stitches in hospital.'Big thank you to the ambos [ambulance workers] and Doc Rice at the Tuft Medical Center in Boston!' he wrote. 'Twelve stitches in my nose after walking the wrong way into a revolving door!'  In January, Field was pictured wearing an eyepatch at an Australia Day concert. He later revealed he was experiencing 'vision problems'.In an unrelated health matter, the Sydney-born musician revealed last year that he had struggled with depression since he was a teenager.'As the years rolled on I started feeling bad about myself,' he said on Anh Do's Brush With Fame. 'When you're in that zone, you feel like you shouldn't be on earth, basically. You're a waste of time,' he added.'You're in a crowd with people and you feel like you're the only person who feels like that. They don't understand me, no one understands me, no one gets me.'He even admitted to experiencing suicidal thoughts 'a couple of times on the road'.
