City of Wilmington and New Castle County Unveil Comprehensive Economic Development Plan
Mayor Williams joins County Executive Gordon to announce plans to increase economic growth in Wilmington and New Castle County

Today, Mayor Dennis P. Williams joined New Castle County Executive Thomas P. Gordon at the Louis L. Redding City/County Building to unveil the City of Wilmington and New Castle County's new Economic Development Strategic Plan.

For both the City of Wilmington and New Castle County, the economic development plans will serve as a blueprint presenting specific guiding principles aimed to achieve both short-term goals and create long-term opportunities that look to strengthen the local economies. In an effort to produce the most accurate and effective plans, businesses and community stakeholders were included in the creation process through numerous focus groups, interviews and stakeholder meetings.

"In order for our City to continue to experience economic growth, we must first have a plan, and this document represents a guided path forward toward a brighter economic future for Wilmington," said Mayor Williams. "This new Strategic Plan is the first step in learning our strengths and weaknesses, making needed changes and creating new opportunities for local jobs and businesses."
