Basic steps to winterizing a Roadtrek 210 Popular:

1. Turn on battery and inverter (or just plug into shore power) and water pump.

2. Drain all water from vamper -- interior tank, exterior tank, shower hose, toilet, exterior water faucets at city water connection. Run water faucets and toilet until air spits. Don't let it spit too long or your water pump will lose its prime.

3. Empty black and gray tanks at a dump station.

4. Drain water heater.

5. Bypass water heater under kitchen sink.

6. Under drivers side bed, turn black valve to perpendicular. Leave red handle valve horizontal.

7. Empty two gallons RV antifreeze into exterior tank.

8. Run cold water faucets (two sinks and exterior) until antifreeze comes out. Then run all three hot water faucets, shower head, and toilet until antifreeze comes out. This winterizes your vamper when in summer mode.

9. Under the drivers side bed, turn red handle so it's perpendicular. Leave black handle perpendicular.

10. Empty two gallons RV antifreeze into interior tank.

11. Repeat Step 8. This winterizes your vamper when in winter mode.

Leave handles under the drivers side bed alone until dewinterizing in the spring. You can still dry camp with your vamper over the winter, or dewinterize if you'll be in warmer weather for a while.

If you dry camp in cold weather over the winter, don't put any water down the drains when using the sinks or toilet. Use a bag system in the toilet and a container to catch water in the sinks.

You don't need to winterize the interior fresh water tank if you'll be where temps will be above freezing (ideally above 65 degrees). Just leave the black handle and red handle perpendicular under the drivers side bed so you've isolated the interior water tank, don't empty the water heater or bypass under the kitchen sink, and fill / use the interior tank as usual.
