Round 2 of the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont delivered another tough test for the field. Sam Burns fired a 5 under 65, the lowest score of the day, to move to 3 under and take the outright lead heading into the weekend. First-round leader J.J. Spaun carded a 72 but stayed in the mix at 2 under. Viktor Hovland also played steady golf, posting a 68 to sit at 1 under through 36 holes. With only three players under par after two rounds, Oakmont continued to show its toughness with thick rough, firm greens, and rising pressure setting the stage for an intense weekend.
