For the last 22 years the Lamu Marine Conservation Trust (LaMCoT) has been working in the Lamu Archipelago. What started as a turtle conservation project has successfully grown to encompass now a patrolled community marine conservancy and education programme within the local schools

This documentary, which will be narrated in both English and Swahili, will be used as tools to educate local young children on marine life and communicate the conservation message. They will be shown in the schools where most of the children have never seen their local underwater world.

In line with the concept of "documentaries for school children" and the continued work LaMCoT is doing in the Lamu archipelago, they wish to produce this first documentary which has also been invited to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC in June 2014, where it will be kept on their show-list for five years, due to its "innovative approach to environmental education for school children".

This is another chance to show to the external world the positive side of Kenya.

We are currently looking for support to complete the filming budget so to have the first film ready for this summer and to be able to make a series of educational films for the school kids with the accumulated footage.
