Lewis Nixon was a complicated individual who suffered from alcoholism throughout his service. Despite this, he was able to reach the rank of Captain and served on the 506th Regimental Staff. He was also one of the few men in the 101st Airborne to make combat jumps into Normandy, Holland and Germany.
