How To Hold Your Drumsticks Correctly - Drum Lesson

In this drum lesson I describe how to hold your drumsticks correctly (using matched grip). It's important to get this right from the start to make your progress as a drummer easier.

Explained:
Open your hand flat, palm facing up
Sit the drumstick on your first finger, first joint
Place your thumb opposite (you've now created your "Fulcrum")
Gently wrap your other fingers round the stick
Check there's 2cm's stick coming out the back of your hand
Turn your wrist inwards until the knuckle of your first finger is the highest point of your hand.
Do the same with your other hand and then check you're holding the sticks symmetrically.
