The community of potters in India known as Kumhaar is dying..there are no buyers of this age old craft and the govt doesn't seem to be bothered at all to save the dying art of pottery. The only saviour is the clay diyas, clay matkas and some clay utensils which are bought during hindu festivals like diwali. They operate on profit margins as low as Rs 3 and Rs 5. and yet customers do not shy away from bargaining with them to further bring the prices down. very low profit margins and very hardwork throughout the day is not motivating enough for their survival. They cant start another profession as this is what they have been doing all through their generations. learning a new skill for them will be wastage of their expertise in this beautiful art. The economy is not doing justice to them but the governments and people can do. there are lots of benefits in cooking in clay pots and storing drinking water in clay pots and c lay bottles. if we can start using clay pots for cooking we can save the dying community of potters in india.
Kumhaar mitti ke diye, mitti ke bartan aur mitti ke matke banata hai. pr humlog saste me khareedne ke liye uski kala se khilwaar kar rahe hain. mitti ke bartan me khaana bananer se bahut faayde hote hain, mitti ke ghade se paani peene ke bhi faayde hain isliye humein jyada se jyaada mitti ke bartano ka istemaal karke kumhaar ko bachana chahiye.
