Gadanthara is an ambitious short film project made by a group of (slightly naive) Brazilian artists in Belo Horizonte, the capital of the state of Minas Gerais.
These anarchist punk artists (some more than others) got together to make a series of short films (of which only this one was released) in the hope of producing a whole world of assets and knowledge in the public domain that would facilitate the creation of other projects by other artists.

In 2010, we obtained funding from our hometown and made the short film. In the process, we learned a lot not only about animation, but also about how naive we were. Animation is REALLY hard to do.

The short film was made entirely with open-source software, including ‪@BlenderOfficial‬ (at the time in its 2.79b version). The Blender project and all its “open films” were the main inspiration for the project, and continue to be so for all of us, in a way.

There were many years of persistence to complete this short, some of us are involved with it since 2007.
