1998 Toyota 4runner rear axle removal - Leaking axle seal

Описание к видео 1998 Toyota 4runner rear axle removal - Leaking axle seal

This video will show you how to remove the rear axle shaft on a 1998 Toyota 4Runner (other years and models similar or the same). Axle shaft removal is required to replace the axle, the inner axle seal, the outer axle seal, the axle bearing or the 3rd member(differential).

You need to remove the brake line from the wheel cylinder, unhook the parking brake cable, remove four 14mm headed nuts and pull out the axle shaft.

if you have the axle out and you looking for the next step here is the axle bearing replacement video.    • 1998 Toyota 4runner rear axle bearing...

This procedure will be very similar for Toyota Pickups, Toyota Tacoma, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Hilux Surf, Toyota T100, Toyota Hilux, Toyota Tundra and Toyota Sequoya from 1981-2008. The 2nd gen 4runners have a parking brake cable that goes directly into the backing plate instead of attaching to a bell crank so the brake shoes may need to be disassembled to remove the cable from the backing plate.
