Bipolar Disorder and Relationship Patterns | HealthyPlace

Описание к видео Bipolar Disorder and Relationship Patterns | HealthyPlace

As a person living with bipolar 2, there are relationship patterns that I’ve uncovered in my own life and later discovered they were shared by others with bipolar disorder. These relationship patterns revolve around how we express love and our emotions.

When you live with bipolar disorder, the way you communicate with another person is based on emotions; which can be difficult for someone to comprehend. Many of us also have extreme empathy, which can lead to giving and giving and expecting the other person to give as much in return. We’re also romantics. One relationship pattern I repeatedly fall into is over-romanticizing – the person, the relationship, and various situations. This blinds me to the reality of things.

One external thing that affects our relationships is bipolar stigma. It makes us prone to believe that we are inadequate which leads to major self-doubt and insecurities in a relationship.

What are the patterns you see in your relationships, as someone living with bipolar? Share your thoughts and experience below or do response video and send it into [email protected]. See you next week! Hannah
