Prabhupada would chant with devotees in the temple hall but everyone would hear their own sound. That's called JAPA!

The time taken for each round of Japa is 7.13min. This is an average required to complete one round of chanting harekrishna maha manthra. There is no hard and fast rule to chant one round in 7.13min. Depends on individuals speed the duration will differ. Sria Prabhupada used chant much faster than this. However we have chosen this speed to enable we all follow and chant proper along with Srila Prabhupada.
