Andhra style Tomato Pappu

Ingredients -

Toor dal, Chop 3 Tomatoes 🍅, 2 Onions,
garlic cloves & slit some 5/6 green chillies,
Tumeric powder , asafoetida, tamarind, Chilli powder, 4 whole green chillies, garlic cloves, coriander powder, Groundnut oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies

Boil Toor dal to 70% with a drop oil, & a pinch of asafoetida, tumeric powder, then add in some chopped onions, tomatoes, garlic cloves & slit green chillies, let it cook for a while until tomatoes, onions becomes soft blend with dal nicely, stir in between. After that, once tomatoes release its flavour, add in 1 spoon of coriander powder 2 spoons of kashmiri red chilli , add tamarind juice or extract, add a pinch of asafoetida if required, then add in salt as per your taste, let it simmer for a while until it thicken a bit.

Meanwhile, crush 4 green chillies, garlic cloves, curry leaves, red chilli powder with morter & and pastel, and keep it aside.

Then for tempering take a small pan, add in groundnut oil, add mustard seeds, after it crackles, add in cumin seeds, red chillies, add in crushed masala, a pinch of tumeric powder & fry well and add the tempering into boiling dal mixture, keep stirring for a while, until it comes to a nice boil & thicken a bit. Let it simmer for some more time. Let it come to a bit thicker consistency.

Andhra style Tomato 🍅 Pappu is ready to serve with hot steamed rice with ghee
