BMW i3: Useless EV Beyond 100,000 Miles?

Описание к видео BMW i3: Useless EV Beyond 100,000 Miles?

You often read headlines about how used electric cars are too expensive to repair and become essentially worthless once the high-voltage battery warranty runs out.

In this video, we take you on a journey where we deliver a Polestar 2 to a customer in Wales and take his well used 99k mile BMW i3 in part-exchange.

Specifically, it's the version with the middle 94Ah battery and the infamous petrol Range Extender which could occasionally be troublesome. Hence, the engine is tested on a long motorway run back into London and so is the DC rapid charging on a top up using GRIDSERVE at Chieveley Services to quantify any drop in peak charging performance.

Lastly, we investigate the state of health / degradation of the traction battery and discuss the final numbers, as they do differ slightly based on what device and method is used for the measurements.
