Pratik Agarwal the Managing Director of Sterlite Power tells that Mumbai only produces one third of the power it consumes. He tells that majority of the power has to be imported and that too at higher prices. In fact Mumbai pays Rs 2-3 per unit higher than other metros for power. The upcoming Mumbai Urja Marg Transmission Line is expected to get charged in September. Sterlite Power has already invested about Rs 2000 crore on the entire stretch before Padgha and they plan to list their cable business post demerger.
