While the tax exemption limit in the final year of UPA rule was Rs 2 lakh per annum, it was raised only once during the NDA rule and brought to 2.5 lakhs. If the government deems a family earning less than Rs 8 lakh per annum to be economically weak and eligible for reservation, then why is the tax limit not being raised accordingly?
