Both have "Steel" as part of their iconic battle chants to activate their ultimate techniques (Emiya's Noble Phantasm - Unlimited Blade Works and Hakumen's Timekiller)

Hailed from an alternate universe where they're summoned back into the past to course correct a mistake and catastrophic event that doomed their respective timelines

Considered as "Legendary Heroes" in some shape or form (Emiya being a Heroic spirit and Hakumen being one of the Legendary Six Heroes)

After finally succeeding in preventing the doomed future of the titular character's respective worlds from suffering the same fate like their own previous timeline where they've once resided from; they're both able to finally rest at ease and be in peace, but will continue upholding their principles in continuing their fight to ensure that the peace they longed fought for remain preserved
