Organic milk VENDING MACHINES in New Zealand | Behind the scenes of DAIRY FARM in WAIKATO

Aotearoa New Zealand has a rich food culture that revolves around the land and the fresh food it provides. In this massive NZ series we’re travelling the length of Aotearoa to take you into the heart of our country’s food culture. We’ll go behind the scenes of New Zealand’s favourite restaurants, share with you the small producers and family run businesses that create some of New Zealand’s best food and together we’ll fish, gather and cook New Zealand’s unique food.

This video kicks off in the Waikato in the upper part of Te- Ika-a Māui, the North Island, it’s a region rich in agriculture and has the highest number of dairy farms in NZ. We take you onto an organic farm called Alexander Organics to meet a raw milk herd and learn why this unique method of farming creates such phenomenal milk. Join us at the farm gate where we grab a bottle of milk from the farm’s vending machines which we use to make creamy porridge for breakfast. Then it's off to Viands Bakery in Kihikihi- 5th generation bakers for a mince and cheese pie and long doughnut- classic Kiwi food. 1. 1 litre of raw organic milk ($5 for the recyclable glass bottle and $3 per litre) at Alexander Organics, 133 Flume Road, Cambridge 3496. Open 7 days, 8:00am to 8:00pm.

2. Mince and cheese pie and long donut at Viands Bakery, 80 Lyon Street, Kihikihi 3800. Open 7 days, 4:30am to 4:30pm.
