Stock brakes on a 1988 Cherokee XJ Jeep are TRASH. In this video we remove the 30+ year old brakes as well as upgrade the the brake booster and master cylinder. Now this cherokee already had a disc brake conversion kit on the rear Dana 35; however, it did not have an e-brake. Adding an interior drum would have been a lot of work/money so we found a solution using brakes from a 1980 Cadillac Seville (Special Thanks to Stevie from Carssuck.com for helping us with that). Replacing this whole system was a challenge because we had no idea where the rear kit came from. We managed to save the old rotors, put the new calipers on as well as pads. On the front we just replaced the old calipers/pads with new ones. Finally the master cylinder and brake booster were a bit of a challenge and required some mods to make it work.
