Chris' 5x9 American Flyer layout updates 01-29-2023

I paid Chris a visit this week to see the updates on his 5x9 American Flyer S gauge layout. The previous video of his layout is one of the top viewed videos on this channel. I hope this video is received as well.

There are some new buildings in the town. The new city hall is at the end of the main street. New street lights have been added.

Chris also did a little track work to the layout by extending the grade ramp on the uphill side of the inner loop. That made a big difference and helped eliminate wheel spin in the grade corner.

He did some landscape and paint work to the interior walls of the tunnel area. Next time I visit I will be sure to add some light to the interior so we can see it better.

New motive power includes the Santa Fe Alco AA units pulling freight on the outer loop.

The cold January weather was offset by two electric space heaters to take the edge off which I greatly appreciated. A fun afternoon of operating trains.
