Although Tulsi is not of Indian origin, her Hindu faith and advocacy for persecuted religious minorities in countries like Bangladesh have made her a significant figure within Hindu communities in both the US and India. However, her perceived closeness to India's ruling BJP government has triggered controversy, with critics questioning her ability to be impartial in her new role.

Harmeet Dhillon, nominated as the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, has been a strong voice against "woke" politics and COVID restrictions in the US, making her a hero for American conservatives. However, her perceived support for Sikh separatist figures, criticism of India's handling of the Khalistan issue, and accusations of New Delhi's involvement in the targeting of North American Sikhs have sparked heated debates among Indian media.

Both these women, in addition to other Indian-Americans rising to the top in US business and politics, will undeniably cause US-India relations to sway one way or another. Whether this sway occurs in a beneficial direction remains to be seen.
