Trump vs Brand: The Power Of Word Choice

Donald Trump and Russell Brand are two very influential people with devoted followings. Yet they have nearly opposite styles of speaking. Trump uses simple words. His announcement speech for his presidential bid came in at a 4th grade reading level according to the Flesch - Kincaid readability test. Russell Brand, on the other hand, speaks using words that you're unlikely to ever hear in normal conversation and may need a thesaurus just to understand.

So after watching how effective Trump has been in his campaign I began to ask myself: which is better? Big words or small ones? Short words or long words? Have I been mistaken in trying to expand my vocabulary?

In this video, I explore the different speaking styles of Trump and Brand and try to answer those questions.
