Francesca Marie Smith: TXI Immersive Video Series

Francesca Marie Smith, a creative consultant who bridges academia and industry, joins the TXI Immersive Video Series. Francesca is an immersive entertainment expert with a long career in the entertainment industry. Most recently, she has spent time writing, designing experiences, and helping shape story worlds for a range of projects, including work with LEGO, Aquarium of the Pacific, and Subway Surfers.

About “This is Immersive” Video Series
“This is Immersive” is a video playlist focused on providing expert insights in defining the field of immersive. Our goal is to highlight the variety of disciplines working towards promoting, designing and developing immersive as experiences that are intimate, experiential and interactive with an audience. This series was designed to be a useful resource for faculty and students interested in this subject.

Texas Immersive Institute (TXI) is a program within the Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin designed to help students create immersive experiences that are intimate, interactive and experiential to engage audiences and build brands. TXI’s goal is to imagine the unknown into existence through the practice of immersion. Through its coursework, interactive events and technology-rich lab, TXI ensures its community will live at the intersection of culture and commerce such that consumers can engage through a blend of physical, digital and voice environments with ease.
