The Mara is named after a river that flows through Kenya and Tanzania, and it features a savanna-like atmosphere that complements the theme of the resort. The Mara is the only place at Disney World where you can get the famous Zebra Domes dessert, which are chocolate-covered mousse domes with a hint of Amarula liqueur. Same is true for our favorite plant-based flamingo cake. The Mara offers some dishes that are inspired by the flavors of Africa, such as the African Potjie, which is a stew with beef, turkey, ham, carrots, peas, mushrooms, and spiced couscous with the new bowl offerings. The Mara also has some hidden Mickeys in its decor, such as the ones on the backs of the chairs and on the mural behind the counter. The Mara is one of two real baobab trees that live at disney world. The Mara has a mobile ordering option that allows you to order your food in advance and pick it up when it’s ready, which can save you time and avoid long lines but if you don't want to mobile order, you can counter order and your food will be brought to you.
