The Humanities Center’s exploration of the imaginative engagement with our world’s diverse environments comes to a close with an investigation of The City. This attention to all things urban follows five previous semesters in which our minds were occupied by the wilds of The Ocean, The Desert, The Forest, The Frozen Realms and The Mountain. Our gallery exhibitions this semester are dedicated to this theme while, in a wide-ranging series of panel discussions and presentations, scholars from a broad array of disciplines will reflect on the nature, challenges and delights of city life.
