Bangladesh government buying 'Rose Garden' why?
The government is going to purchase 'Rose Garden', the historic establishment of old Dhaka.

The government's expenditure will be Rs 332 crore for this purchase.

In 1949, East Pakistan Awami Muslim League was born at this house, which was transformed into the present Bangladesh Awami League through various evolution.

For the last 30 years, this building has been a protected place in the Archeology Department of Bangladesh, though it is a property owned by a person.

In the year 1930, Hrishikesh Das started the construction of the house in seven acres of land.

It is seen in Bangalpadi that there are many sculptures in front of the house of seven thousand feet.

When the house was built, there were rare roses of various species. And that's why it is named Rose Garden.

According to Banglapedia data, through the purchase of this property from Hrishikesh Das, he started living there since 1937, a wealthy businessman, Khan Bahadur Qazi Abdur Rashid.

Then the building was known as Rashid Manzil. Currently his descendants own this property.

Awami League was born at a meeting chaired by Ataur Rahman Khan on 23 June 1949. The meeting was held at the house of KM Das Lane, KM Bashir Humayun, of old Dhaka.

In the first meeting, Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani was elected as the President of East Pakistan Awami Muslim League and Shamsul Haque as General Secretary.

A source in the Ministry of Culture said, the owner of the house has long been interested in selling it. That is why he was also contacted by the government.

An official from the Ministry of Culture said that the final decision was not taken about what the government will do with it after buying the house.

However, the house will be under the Ministry of Culture and discussed with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the next decision will be taken, the official said. But he thought he could be a museum here.

Professor Nurul Kabir, associate professor of the Department of Archeology at Jahangirnagar University, said that although the 'Rose Garden' building is being evaluated from the background of the political party, its foundation style is also important.

He said, it is an example of the nineteenth-century new-style architectural style from the nineteenth to the twentieth century. The building was constructed in such a way that there is a combination of European architectural styles with Indian architectural styles.

Mr. Kabir mentioned that there are some such installations in Bangladesh.

১৯৪৯ সালে এ বাড়িতেই পূর্ব পাকিস্তান আওয়ামী মুসলিম লীগের জন্ম হয়েছিল, যেটি নানা বিবর্তনের মধ্য দিয়ে বর্তমানের বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগে রূপান্তরিত হয়েছে।

গত প্রায় ৩০ বছর যাবত এই ভবনটি বাংলাদেশের প্রত্নতত্ত্ব অধিদপ্তরের তালিকায় সংরক্ষিত স্থাপনা হিসেবেই রয়েছে, যদিও এটি একটি ব্যক্তি মালিকানাধীন সম্পত্তি।

১৯৩০ সালে হৃষিকেশ দাস সাত একর জমিতে এ বাড়ি নির্মাণের কাজ শুরু করেন করেন।

বাংলাপিডিয়ার তথ্যে দেখা যাচ্ছে, সাত হাজার ফুট আয়তনের এ বাড়ির সামনে নানা ভাস্কর্য রয়েছে।

বাড়িটি যখন তৈরি করা হয়েছিল, তখন সেখানে নানা প্রজাতির বিরল গোলাপ গাছ ছিল। আর সে কারণেই এর নামকরণ করা হয় রোজ গার্ডেন।

বাংলাপিডিয়ার তথ্য অনুযায়ী, হৃষিকেষ দাসের কাছ থেকে ওই সম্পত্তি ক্রয়ের মাধ্যমে ১৯৩৭ সাল থেকে সেখানে ব
