A 5 day fall canoe camping trip in Temagami, Sep 28 to Oct 2, 2022
We continue through rugged terrain dragging ourselves and our gear further and further into the Temagami wilderness along the Lady Evelyn River. We were rewarded with more breathtaking waterfalls and memories to last a lifetime.
We spend a night on Katherine Lake and Willow Island Lake. We visit Helen Falls, Cabin Falls, Fat Mans Falls, Bridal Veil Falls in the Temagami area, Lady Evelyn Smoothwater Provincial Park. We paddle past Hap and Andrea Wilson's Cabin Falls Eco Lodge. We saw wild otters, a bald eagle and plenty of loons. Nights were cold going down to below freezing temperatures, but the fall colours really started to show on the second half of the trip. On our way out, we hiked up to the lookout at Napoleon Mountain Portage for a stunning vantage point of Lake Temagami. Worth the extra climb, a beautiful view.
