Australian soldiers from the 1st Royal Australia Regiment and current Rifle Company Butterworth rotation 122, visit Kanchanaburi Province and Hellfire Pass.
Hellfire Pass is the name of a railway cutting on the former Thai-Burma Railway in Thailand which was built using Prisoners of War and locally indentured civilians as forced labour during the Second World War.
The Australian soldiers will also take part in ceremonial and local activities which coincide with celebrations for the Thai King’s birthday.
The visit was organised by the Department of Veterans Affairs - Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre.
