STORYLINE:
There was strong and mixed reaction across states on Friday after the US Supreme Court ended constitutional protections for abortion that had been in place nearly 50 years.
Crowds gathered in downtown Atlanta and Detroit with protesters decrying the ruling as "illegitimate," saying "we won't go back."
Friday's Supreme Court ruling overturned Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision that made abortion legal nationwide.
The decision is expected to lead to sweeping abortion bans in more than 20 states.
