I'm a former exec (and current filmmaker) who's had to learn to read the Sundance schedule for acquisitions and development exec purposes. Sundance 2023 starts January 19, 2023 and if you're a filmmaker or creative type who wants to learn about the Sundance schedule and how to read it from an insider, watch this guide. Besides telling you about each program/section, I walk you through the venues, the politics of which films get programmed when/where and then we learn more through the listings for individual films (Fair Play, The Accidental Getaway Driver, My Animal, and Fremont) as examples.
