In “Meet the Activist: Maria”, viewers meet a New York Communities for Change member from the Harlem Chapter, who speaks about her experiences as a community activist.
Based in Downtown Brooklyn, NYCC is a coalition of working families in low and moderate income communities fighting for social and economic justice throughout the State.

Media Share is a New York Emmy-nominated, in-kind grant program for Brooklyn-based or Brooklyn-affiliated nonprofit organizations to learn how to create and use media. Our goal is to help nonprofits become “hands-on” with the creation of videos that can promote and inform the public about their work. This content will air on Brooklyn Free Speech television which is cablecast to over 550,000 Brooklyn households and countless more worldwide via online streaming.

New York Communities for Change (NYCC) is a coalition of working families in low and moderate income communities fighting for social and economic justice throughout the State. They are people fighting to make a difference, using power in numbers to effect change throughout New York.

By using direct action, legislative advocacy, and community organizing, members work to impact the political and economic policies that directly affect us.

In “Meet the Activist: Maria”, viewers meet an NYCC member from the Harlem Chapter, who speaks about her experiences as a community activist.

NYCC is a leading progressive organization in New York building people power through neighborhood, tenant, and worker organizing.
