The Most INCREDIBLE Place In Java Indonesia | Mount Bromo

Описание к видео The Most INCREDIBLE Place In Java Indonesia | Mount Bromo

We decided to visit one of Java, Indonesia's most popular tourist destinations to find out if it was worth the hype, we were not disappointed. Mt Bromo is the most incredible place in Java that we've been to so far. The hike up to King Kong Hill and the beautiful viewpoint left us speechless, witnessing Mt Bromo at sunrise is an unforgettable experience and gives you a taste of how unreal Indonesia can be. This is a must visit travel destination in Java Indonesia and we cover everything you need to know when visiting Mt Bromo on a budget instead of taking a jeep tour.

Getting to Mount Bromo:
Go to Probolinggo (via train or bus)
Take a mini bus or taxi from Probolinggo to Cemoro Lawang (the village next to Mt Bromo)

We saw many stories about how the buses don’t have reliable departure times and they sometimes over charge tourists and only work out cheaper if the bus is full, otherwise it will cost more per person to go there. We decided it was easier and less stressful to take a taxi there, we met a guy who offered to drive us for 250,000 IDR. Grab quoted us around 300,000 IDR so it worked out cheaper to go with him. The drive takes around 1 hour 20 minutes. Here’s his WhatsApp if you want to organise a taxi there:

There is also an entry fee to go into the village of Cemoro Lawang, this is around 30,000 IDR / $2 USD per person.

If you want to go on a planned tour to Mt Bromo, this can also be organised from most hostels or hotels in Probolinggo, which might save you money on transport getting there. They leave at 2am from your accommodation and return before midday. Jeep tours cost around 220,000 per person and upwards, this doesn’t include the national park fee or village fee which you pay on arrival.

National park fee for foreigners: 240,000 IDR / $15 USD weekdays, 340,000 IDR / $21 USD on weekends and Indonesian public holidays.

Going to King Kong Hill:
Visiting the viewpoint is completely free and walkable from Cemoro Lawang, the route is around 4km and is mainly along the road through the village before you reach steps and the remaining length of the path. We set off at 2:30am and completed the hike easily within 2 hours, it’s a relatively easy hike overall. It can be followed on Google Maps but Maps.Me is also a great option since it shows more details, other viewpoints and smaller paths, including a small passage to the right side of Cemara Indah Hotel which allows you to enter the sea of sand without paying the national park entry fee. It’s up to you whether you want to try and enter that way or not.

Don’t forget a coat and warm clothes as well as a head light or torch, it’s very dark when you climb at night. Have a good trip!
