This was a decisive victory in the time of stalemates and ceasefires. Pakistan army and its government were humiliated and made to surrender with 93000 Pakistani soldiers. This was history's largest surrender by a professional army. Still pakistan does not seem to have learned their lessons after so much humiliation. Pakistan understood and they can never defeat India in a fair fight, so they started asymmetrical warfare against India. Pakistan has become a terrorist state and is on verge of economic default. Afghans and Taliban are pressing on Pakistan from the western border and may be it will be the chance of a repeat of 1971 splintering of Pakistan in various parts.
