It wouldn't be right of me to not come back for a second in celebration of Doctor Who's 60th anniversary, right?

Anyway, and please don't take this the wrong way, I absolutely LOVE many of the things they have done for this title sequence. It's by far one of the most gorgeous title sequences the show has ever had. The vortex and open-space concepts are beautiful, the TARDIS has never looked better, David & Catherine's names floating around and dodging the TARDIS just provides a stunning and fresh take on the sequence while also feeling familiar. I'm even a fan of the whole montage/cutting of the sequence (which is a nice callback to the very first 1963 titles which also weren't continuous).

There were some things in here that I must admit I wasn't personally a fan of, however. Some of the more minor things are just the way the titles cut in early (before the first beats of the baseline), as well as the way the music abruptly cuts at the end (although the theme itself is FANTASTICALLY done by Murray Gold, all positive things to say there).

The biggest concern that I had, in my opinion, was the appearance of the logo. The powerpoint-esc transition felt weird, and the image didn't really feel integrated with the rest of the sequence. (Note that I called it an "image.") Although it was slightly tinted to match the colors of the vortex, if you look at it closely, the colors of the logo don't change to reflect the fast-moving vortex, so it just feels very stale. The logo animation that they've been using for all social media posts (with the regeneration effects) looks incredible, so I'm surprised that they just didn't incorporate that into the titles.

And finally, I mean, yes Doctor Who is a BBC show but the BBC logo that appears was so gigantic it was almost distracting from the title of the actual show. To me it's worked better when the BBC logo is more subtle like in the previous intros.

All that said, here is the title sequence with a few fixes made by me in order to 'perfect' it (in my opinion).

I did various cuts/edits to the music to have the main melody occur earlier and so that the ending doesn't feel rushed.

I adjusted the start of the sequence so that it begins on beat.

I ROUGHLY tried to incorporate the social media logo into the sequence by laying it over the one used in the titles. It doesn't look great, I know, but it's just an idea of what the sequence would look like. I also played around with the colors to make it feel more organic with the vortex.

I made the BBC logo much smaller.
