Yishun, previously known as Nee Soon, is a residential town located in the northern part of Singapore. Named after the "pineapple king" and rubber magnate, Lim Nee Soon, Yishun has transformed over the decades from rubber plantations and orchards into a bustling town.

Yishun is mainly populated by public housing flats, with some private condominiums. The town has undergone various renewal programs to modernize its infrastructure.

Yishun boasts multiple amenities for its residents, including Northpoint City, one of the largest suburban malls in Singapore. The town also has Yishun Pond, Yishun Park, and the SAFRA Yishun Country Club.

With its own Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the North-South Line, and an integrated transport hub, Yishun is easily accessible and well-connected to other parts of Singapore.

Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, a general and acute care hospital, serves the healthcare needs of the residents in the northern region of Singapore.

Historically, Yishun has gained a quirky reputation on the internet due to various odd and sometimes humorous incidents reported in the town. However, it's essential to note that such incidents do not define the town as a whole.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) of Singapore has plans to further develop Yishun with more green spaces, better transport links, and more amenities for residents.
